There is a force in the Universe that connects people with their dreams and with each other, leads them together and then shows them the way … if they pay attention and recognize the signs.

Meeting as members of American Tribal Style troupe Wüstenrosen (Desert roses), gravitating towards tribal fusion and inevitably to each other, Doro and Michaela decided to dance together and bring their own ideas into the dance, and Nakari was born.

Our dance style is influenced by all and everything we ever tried, be it martial arts, ballet, African dance or hip hop. We are making excursions into other dance styles that touch our hearts, while keeping the Tribal in Tribal Fusion.

You can find us in front of any shiny surface practicing our moves, at fleamarkets, bargaining over old jewellery or cool piece of clothing, at every workshop in 1000 km radius, at a random bellydance studio in Vienna, actually any dance studio in Vienna, and if you’re lucky, we’ll be dancing at the event you’re attending, or organizing!

American Tribal Style (ATS) unites many different dance styles, from Orient through North Africa, India, Spain, to Balkan. The main principle is of ATS is improvised dance in the group with changing leads and formations, using cues and combinations of moves. Watching an ATS troupe, you’ll see earthy, mystic and regal dance, performed by strong, proud and dignified women.

Tribal Fusion is the rebellious and curious child of ATS, thirsty for knowledge. It tries everything that seems interesting, and takes from all directions, while always keeping its mother in sight.
